A LookFirst.net Employer Should Know

BEFORE CREATING A VIDEO JOB OPPORTUNITY (VJO)

What To Bring

What To Wear
What To Do
What To Expect

What To Bring

After scheduling an appointment with one of our representatives, you will receive an e-mail confirming the date and time of your recording session. In this e-mail, you will receive a Video Job Opportunity (VJO) Terms & Conditions Form. Please carefully read this form, as you will be asked to sign it at your appointment.

Please also provide:
  • A brief summary of the new job opportunity at your company (usually 1-2 paragraphs).
  • A company profile, including services offered, or any other company literature your firm provides to prospective applicants.
  • Directions and/or a map to your company's site.
  • Additional Information useful to prospective applicants, such as a website link, company brochures, digital photographs, and any other useful materials. Company questionnaires or forms that need to be completed by applicants may also be included in this section.
  • A copy of your firm's Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) Statement. LookFirst.net requires a signed EEOC Statement from all companies posted on its website. If your company does not currently have an EEOC statement, LookFirst.net will provide one for you to sign.
Please send all electronic materials to info@lookfirst.net, in Microsoft Word format only, prior to your appointment. These materials will be included with your Video Job-Op.

What To Wear

The LookFirst.net Portable Kiosk is equipped with lighting, sound, and video technology to accurately capture your voice and appearance. The camera will not record anything worn below your waist, so you may dress your lower half comfortably. Above your waist, you should dress in the clothes you would normally wear to work. This gives the applicant an accurate perception of your business culture. Avoid wearing white, as it tends to wash out the features of many individuals. If people tell you that you look your best in a particular color or specific article of clothing, choose to wear it for your recording session.

What To Do

A trained LookFirst.net technician will arrive at your site to record your VJO. Please be prepared to complete and sign any LookFirst.net documents. Choose some possible locations to record the VJO. An optimal location is considered a well-lit and quiet environment, such as an office or conference room.

What To Expect

Once a recording location at your company is chosen, the LookFirst.net technician will set up the Portable Kiosk. This will create an automated process by which you will be instructed by an electronic Job-Op Guide to privately answer five standardized questions. Remember to relax, smile, and be yourself. Also, remember to sit up straight and focus forward while you are recording. Through the questioning and coaching provided by LookFirst.net, your Video Job-Op will showcase your personality, expectations, and work environment to prospective job seekers.
